The transition from empirical assessments to scientifically based methods of making environmentally sound decisions lies through the creation of expert systems (ES) of environmental monitoring, focused on assessing and predicting the state of the environment under anthropogenic impact.
Various models of knowledge bases in ecological and economic activity are considered: determination of exposure in environmental risk assessment,
identification of the pollutant hazard class, choice of method for cleaning the soil, route for transportation of petroleum products, determination of the source of air pollution, source of soil pollution, selection of water purification systems, identification of the emergency, search for sources of pollution of water resources, analysis of the integrated assessment of the natural environment of the region, selection of air purification filter, choice of financial and economic mechanism for the efficiency of protection of the natural environment.
