Model of a functional system for determining competence
A functional competence system (FCS) is a system formed to achieve a given useful result (competence) in the course of its functioning. The system-forming factor in the functioning of the Federal Grid Company is a specific result - competence. In other words, the goal is considered as a given result, and the restrictions are considered as the degree of freedom necessary to achieve the result.
The physical model of the knowledge base stores instances of classes, objects, values of object attributes and logical relationships between classes, objects.
The main methods for assessing competencies:
- testing (psychological, professional);
- analysis of psychophysiological characteristics of students;
- attestation (modules, tests, exams);
- expert assessments of intellectual and practical competencies.
The development of a competency model in the "KARKAS" system involves the following steps:
1.Construction of an ontology of the subject area.
2. Qualimetry (entropy) of intellectual and practical competencies.
3. Ontology testing.
A competency model is a list of competencies with specific indicators of their manifestations in professional activities. The model includes competencies that are most important for a student in computer science.
An effective model involves the development of competency profiles - sets of competencies for different levels of studying computer science at a university (for example, the first year of the Faculty of Finance - ZUN (knowledge, skills) in MS Office and Internet technologies, the second year of the Faculty of Finance - ZUN in Access DBMS and MySql and Internet technologies, etc.).
Algorithm for constructing FSK in the "KARKAS" system.
1. Describe the competencies students need for the subject area.
2. Develop a qualimetry of intellectual and practical competencies.
3. Analyze the effectiveness of qualimetry (if necessary, make adjustments).
4. Highlight key competencies.
5. Build a domain competency model
- to determine the competencies for each section of the discipline;
- build a digraph of competencies connections.
6. Develop methods for assessing competence (interviews, tests, situational tasks, business simulations).
7. Build an ontology of the subject area (introduce attributes, objects, establish relationships between objects (write rules and frames).
8. Test the knowledge base.
The following key competencies have been identified for FGC in MS Excel: Excel interface; (x1)::data entry processing; (x2): formatting; (x3): formulas, cell names, links; (x4): dCharts; (x5): macros, pivot tables; (x6): consolidation; (x7); different. (x8).
The number of possible logical solutions for a qualitative assessment of the degree of competence is 280 = 8 (objects)x5(level of competence)x7(degree of competence). The competency digitization test contains over 300 questions.
Degree of competence: very high 10; high 9; very good 8; good 7; moderate 6; low 5; very low 4.
